When we first began covering the University of Idaho murders in November 2022, the case was still almost completely undefined. Four students — Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin — had been found dead inside an off-campus home on King Road in Moscow after police responded to a report of an unconscious person.
